Competition Rules

 

All rules and regulations have been created to promote safe, fun, and challenging competitions. Paramount among our objectives is safety. Please adhere to all rules at all times and help us to create an environment that both competitors and spectators will enjoy.

Eligibility

Competitors must be between the ages of 10 and 19 and have at least one proof of age, for example; a copy of birth certificate, ID or drivers license. Some of the events are based on each athlete’s individual body weight, thus competitors will weigh-in at a set time and date before the qualifying or final competitions. Each teen can compete in all Individual Events both against him or herself according to his or her own personal level and against other participants. A group of four teens can make up a team and participate in all Team Events. Teams must be made up of 4 girls or 4 boys within the same age group. Mixed teams will also be allowed to enter and will be judged against other mixed teams. 

Competitors, coaches and parents will sign the appropriate code of conduct. Good sportsmanship will be expected and enforced at the sole discretion of Event Officials and Organizers. No form of abuse, whether physical, mental or verbal will be tolerated. Violations will result in penalties up to and including removal from the event.

Code of Conduct

- For athletes 10 to 12 years of age:

 

These athletes will be required to do a full obstacle course which will test their speed, adgillity, endurance, strength, neuromuscular skills and overall development. A trainer/family member will have 2minutes prior to the course start of the athlete to go through the obstacles with the athlete if any explination is needed. trainers will be given all course exercises prior to the event for the teens to be trained for. Either the full course, as given, or parts there of will be set up on the day of the event for the teens to complete. Only the competing athlete along with ONE trainer will be allowed in the competition area. All spectators and competitors not actively involved and specifically instructed to be in the competition area must remain in the designated spectator viewing area for the events.

 

- For athletes 13 to 19 years of age:

 

These athletes will complete combination challenges, individual challenges as well as obstacle courses (at certain events). Competitors will enter the competition areas only when instructed by official personnel. During the competition no friends or family members will be allowed in the competition area. All spectators and competitors not actively involved and specifically instructed to be in the competition area must remain in the designated spectator viewing area for the events. Violations can result in loss of points and or removal from the competition. Only ONE approved coach or supervisor will be able to be in the competition area with a competitor at the time.

Competition Areas

The events and order of events may be changed at any time. It is the responsibility of the competitor to be present at his or her competition as well at the competitor meeting before the start of the events. Failure to show or arriving late for a competition or event will result in loss of points for the competitor and/or the team. If a competitor is not present when calling his or her name for the 3rd time at an event, that competitor will be disqualified. The judges can and will stop a competitor during an event if he or she believes the competitor is at risk of injury.

Events

Attire and Equipment

In the Event of a Tie

In all events competitors must wear clothing that is designed for athletes and worn so as not to be objectionable. extreme low cut tops (on ladies) or any obscene clothes or clothes with obscene words are not allowed and clothing must be made of a material which is non-transparent even if wet. The purpose of shoes for competition is to give protection and stability to the feet and a firm grip on the ground. Such shoes, however, must not be constructed so as to give an athlete any unfair additional assistance. Competitors must remove all accessories such as watches, necklaces, bracelets, ear rings, etc during the entire competition. Gloves, wraps and lifting belts are acceptable. Lifting suits are not acceptable and cannot be worn. If any clothing is found to be inappropriate for participation, any official may remove the athlete from the competition until the athlete arrives with the appropriate attire.

In the event that 2 individuals are tied for one place, one last event will be added as a tiebreaker to secure a winner. In the event that 2 teams are tied for one place, a special tiebreaker event will be held. Calculation of competition weight for any weighted events will be calculated as % of each athlete’s bodyweight rounded to the nearest whole Kilogram increment of competition weight.
